Research Step 1: Choose and clarify the purpose of your wearable art
Five Dangers to Protect Against
- Slipping and falling on icy or wet surfaces.
- Harmful UV rays and excessive sun exposure.
- Airborne pollutants and diseases.
- Dehydration during physical activity.
- Insect bites while outdoors.
Five Ways to Extend My Body’s Capabilities
- Enhanced night vision for low-light conditions.
- Ability to regulate body temperature in extreme climates.
- Faster reaction times.
- Strengthened immune system.
- Increased lung capacity for better endurance.
Chosen Purpose: Ability to Regulate Body Temperature
I chose this because maintaining comfort and safety in varying climates can improve focus and reduce stress. This extension would be particularly helpful for those who travel or work in extreme weather conditions.
Project’s Purpose and Function
The wearable art project will act as a personal temperature regulator. It will feature a network of materials capable of heating or cooling based on the environment, powered by lightweight, flexible technology. Inspired by nature (e.g., penguin feathers and cactus spines), it would also allow airflow or insulation when needed. Aesthetically, it will reflect a futuristic design with a natural, textured finish.
